Departure Flow

From 12 Poems At The Dawn Of A Brand New Day, one of my nine self-published poetry chapbooks:

Departure Flow

Every time the wind blows
our destiny is taking another breath
Something new is born here
with every moment’s death
Every train’s whistle
Every shooting star
Every plane that lands
or passing car
Each and every face that turns
to or from our sight
A thought running through our mind
A soul passing through the night
Any action or reaction
emotional commotion
Custom formula, a strange but lovely potion
of our passions, our soul’s blood
of what we see and what we do
of how we work, what pulls us through
This pocket full of space
holds our silent victories
our loud glory and high pain
our quiet struggles too
Yet all that remains
through this departure flow
All we can really know
our destiny is
our destiny is
