(This poem is from 9 years ago)
Can’t we try to let go of our Easter grudges?
He doesn’t like this
She didn’t like that
Always someone else wearing the hat
Always some disagreement or misunderstanding
Always fighting for monopoly
of the timeless truth that will save us all
Can’t we just throw in our hang ups and not be so quick to judge?
Not hang on so tightly to every silly little grudge?
I can’t see one reason why
we couldn’t at least give it a try:
What He originally tried to tell us
What Joshua was saying
before He died
and then arrived
It’s really quite simple
Really not that complicated at all
Why can’t we just try to love and be nice to one another?
